My Thoughts On The Duck Dynasty Drama

Just the thought that anyone in this country can not quote scripture from the Bible is outrageous to me.  We are suppose to be a nation  based on Christian values.  However, as anyone can see,  we are more of a nation of sinner than anything else.  Even some people who are Christians pick and chose what they want applied to them from the Bible.  I know because at one time, I did the same thing.  Thank God that my eyes were opened to the truth and now, I live my life according to the Bible because I gave my life to Christ.  I have never been happier in my entire life.  God has healed me twice this year of long going problems. This is for another blog.

When Phil Robertson was being interviewed, I can imagine how the person interviewing him was trying to rile him.  Why?  Because he is an outspoken man and they knew it.  What he said was quoted from the Bible in 1 Corinthian chapter six starting with verse eight..  Allow me to quote it so everyone reading this can know exactly what it says.

First let me give the reader some background.  Paul was writing a letter to the church because they had not be conducting themselves in a Christian manner and he in love felt he should set them straight.

The most important book you will ever read.

"Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God?  Do not be deceived:  Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor sexually immoral nor idolaters nor, adulterers not male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves not the greedy nor drunkards not slanders nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.  And that is what some of you were.  But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of out God."

As you readers can see, not only gays were mentioned but a lot of other habits and activities by people that God hates.  This isn't the only time this is mentioned in the bible.

Like Phil Robertson said, it just ain't right.  I have known people who were/are gay and I have told them that I do not understand why they had rather be with a person of their own kind...meaning the same sex.  When God make Adam and Eve, he intended for man and woman to be  together and reproduce to populate the earth.  He did not put two men or two woman together. They can not have children.  So, what would be the point?

For years, I was friends with gay people and all I would say is that I did not approve to their face.  It was no secret how I felt.  I did not judge them as it isn't my place.  However, I can have an opinion just as Phil does.  As time went by, I came to understand that I needed to separate myself from them because in 2 Corinthians chapter five and starting with verse 14 here is what God said.

"Do not be yoked together with unbelievers.  For what does righteousness and wickedness have in common?   Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?  What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? (This word is Hebrew and means worthless.)  What does a believer have in common with and unbeliever?  What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols?  For we are the temple of the living God. (Meaning our bodies once we accept Christ into our heart and life.)   As God has said:  I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people." (Speaking of Christians.)

The Lords says: vs 17 same chapter. Therefore come out from them and be separate."

Now, if a person isn't a Christian, what I have just written probably doesn't mean a thing.  I would like to think it will.  Most Christians feel a need and are instructed by God to witness to sinners about  Jesus Christ.   Christians need to know what God has to say.  How can we walk with God if we do not read His word?  We can't.

I commend Paul Robertson for quoting the scripture since he is a Christian who admits that he was not always a Christian.  He lived a wild life until he hit rock bottom.  Thank goodness he had a good wife to support him when he turned his life over to God.  Their success in life is an example of what God will do for His people when they live according to his His Word and I am not talking about the television show.

A& E may drop the show and along with dropping it, they also will have a shrinking pocket book.  In today's world, everything has to be politically correct.  I am sick of hearing the words....Politically correct.

It seems that so far, we still have freedom of press just not freedom for people in certain positions to state what they believe.  The Robertson's on this reality show do not need the show to live very well.  It was great entertainment.  I am sure they will go about their Christian lives and be as happy as ever.  Maybe all of this came up so things could be brought to the light for those who are unaware.  Who knows? God's work in unknown to us.  His way is the only way.

I watch a Christian channel at home and was just thinking how this show might be a good one to take up some of their air time.  What ya think TBS?  This family is a good witness to Christ just like a minister preaching the gospel.
